In November 2010, the Italian embassy in Brazil went green with the help of Enel Green Power. The embassy inaugurated an array of over 400 solar panels that can produce enough electricity to meet almost all of the embassy’s needs. The green turn taken by the Italian diplomatic mission was a result of the partnership between the Italian Foreign Ministry and EGP, along with the Companhia Energética de Brasília (CEB), the Brazilian National Electricity Agency (Aneel) and the giant Itaipúhydroelectric plant.
