The Braço Norte -Jucelino Kubitschek power station- is located 26 kilometers from Guarantã do Norte and 763 kilometers from Cuiabá. The plant includes an Ambursen dam, forming a small reservoir with a short-open channel connecting the forebay and four steel penstocks, which is connected to the powerhouse. The powerhouse contains two 1.45 MW and two 1.35 MW propeller turbines; two of the generating sets were placed in 1986, another in 1989 and the last one in 1990.
