The Poxoréo hydroelectric plant -José Fragelli- is located 251 kilometers from Cuiabá on the right bank of the Poxoréo River. The plant includes two 0.5 MW Francis type turbines which were installed in the powerhouse in 1911. A generating set was placed in 1976 and a small earth type dam reservoir with an open surface channel which feeds the powerhouse.
