Enel Green Power (EGP), a world leader in renewable energy generation, is the Enel Group company established in 2008 to develop and manage renewable energy generation at an international level. EGP produces wind, solar, hydroelectric, biomass and geothermal electricity.
EGP North America is a leading owner and operator of renewable energy plants in North America, with projects operating and under development in 20 US States and three Canadian provinces. Currently celebrating its 10th anniversary in the United States, EGP NA owns and operates over 70 projects with an installed capacity of around 800 MW, powered by renewable hydropower, wind, geothermal and biomass energy.
EGP is assessing the potential of the Jewel Valley Project, a wind and solar generation facility near Boulevard. The company is seeking an Administrative Permit from the County of San Diego to install equipment that will measure wind speed and direction, as well as the potential for generating solar energy at the site. This project will build on Jewel Valley’s rich history and pave the way for a more sustainable future.
If built, the project would also create new jobs, generate tax revenues to fund County services, improve air quality by offsetting greenhouse gas emissions, and reduce the country’s dependence on foreign oil.
