Timber Hills Project

Welcome!

Enel Green Power North America, Inc. (EGP-NA), a leader in renewable energy generation, is researching the potential of building the Timber Hills Project, a wind generation facility near Burney, California. The project would create jobs and generate tax evenue to fund County services. It would also provide benefits in our communities for local schools and organizations, while reducing dependence on foreign oil.
As Shasta County seeks to build a strong alternative energy industry, EGP-NA brings leadership, experience, and an unrivaled commitment to the communities in which we operate. Working together, we can achieve this goal.

Local Expertise

Enel has extensive development experience in the wind energy industry. The company built Italy’s first wind farm in 1984 and now operates projects throughout Europe, Latin America and North America. In the United States, Enel Green Power North America (EGP-NA) recently developed projects in Kansas and Texas and has a development pipeline of approximately 1,000 megawatts (MW).
EGP-NA recently purchased California-based Padoma Wind Power. Padoma has extensive experience in developing, building and operating wind farms. The team has worked on more than 45 wind projects worldwide, including the installation of approximately 1,300 MW in the U.S. market. With this acquisition, EGP-NA will continue to build on its strong track record of developing, operating and owning renewable energy generation facilities.

Commitment to Clean Energy

EGP-NA is a leading owner and operator of renewable energy plants in North America with projects operating and under development in 20 U.S. states and three Canadian provinces. Currently celebrating its 10th anniversary in the United States, EGP-NA owns and operates over 70 projects with an installed capacity of around 800 MW powered by renewable hydropower, wind, geothermal and biomass energy.
EGP-NA is a subsidiary of Enel Green Power (EGP), the Enel Group company established in 2008 to develop and manage renewable energy generation at an international level. EGP produces wind, solar, hydroelectric, biomass and geothermal electricity. With 618 renewable energy plants in operation or under construction and an installed capacity of approximately 5,900 MW, the company covers the energy consumption of 7.8 million families worldwide. These substantial resources have helped make Enel a world leader in renewable energy generation. For more information on EGP, visit www.enelgreenpower.com

A Diverse History

Founded in 1962, Enel’s mission was to produce, transport, distribute and sell power to all of Italy. The company later began acquiring a diverse portfolio of generation facilities, including wind, solar and geothermal projects. Enel has since become Italy’s largest power company and Europe’s second-largest utility, with approximately 95,000 MW of generating capacity and subsidiaries such as EGP-NA and EGP. An integrated player that produces, distributes and sells electricity and gas to more than 61 million customers, Enel has a presence in 40 countries over four continents.
Enel has also contributed to Italy’s reputation as a world leader in geothermal electricity. Italy’s geothermal industry began more than 100 years ago in the Tuscan town of Larderello when five light bulbs were lit by power generated from underground steam. In 1911, that site became home to the world’s first geothermal plant. The company now manages 31 geothermal plants in Tuscany, as well as facilities in the U.S.
Throughout its long history, Enel has been dedicated to maintaining rigorous safety standards at its generation facilities, putting safety first for employees and the community.

Active Community Participant

EGP-NA is committed to being more than just a local business; our approach is to build, own and operate our facilities.
