In direct relation to the problem of access to water and its supply, EGPE organised a charity action consisting of a water-donation campaign in collaboration with the Red Cross, donated by EGPE employees.
During the months of April, May and June another 7 informative visits to different EGPE facilities have been planned.

Pontevedra, 22 March 2013.- Today, the mini hydroelectric power stations of Anllo and Arroibar, operated by Enel Green Power España in the municipalities of Cotobade and Campolameiro in Pontevedra, organised a training day to celebrate World Water Day. Ninety children from the secondary schools of Cotobade, “Frei Martín Sarmiento” and “Luis Seoane” (the latter two in Pontevedra) took part in the event. The students were able to see how the facilities operated and learn about the importance of making rational use of water.
As is the custom each year, EGPE has contributed to disseminating information about renewable energies among adults and children by opening up the doors of its renewable facilities to all learning centres that are interested. In 2012, approximately 600 visitors were able to explore the facilities of EGP in Iberia. A total of 8 plants in Spain and Portugal received visits from January to December.
Enel Green Power España celebrated World Environment Day (5 June) in a special way in Castilla y León, specifically in the province of Burgos. In keeping with its commitment to nature and the regions in which it operates, EGPE allowed 200 schoolchildren aged between 9 and 12 from 5 schools in the region to visit Cogollos Wind Farm and take part in different educational activities related to renewable energies during the day.
