Quatiara is located 100 kilometers from Presidente Prudente, in the suburbs of Rancharia. The plant is connected to a concrete dam reservoir with a built-in forebay. Two short concrete penstocks reach a powerhouse with two generating sets, one is 1.69 MW and the other is 1.29 MW. There is a 500 meter tailrace channel cut into rock that connects the powerhouse to the Peixe River.
Quatiara was built and initiated operations between 1939 and 1947.
