The efficiency of the photovoltaic panel, ie the conversion ratio between irradiation and power generated, goes from 10% of the previous thin film product to about 18% in 2018 and about 20% by 2019






The maximum electric power, thanks to the developments during the three phases, will go from 365W in 2018 to 395W per panel in 2019, featuring a marked improvement over the 140W of the previous thin film model




Energy production


The bifacial solution of the new solar panel allows it to capture light from the back and produce more electrical energy, about 10-15% more than traditional monofacial panelsThe result is the possibility of of installing a smaller number of panels and reducing the surface area used





Life expectancy

Thin-film photovoltaic modules guaranteed a life cycle of up to 25 years, while HJT has a robustness that gives it a life expectancy of over 30 years





Resilience and adaptability


The new photovoltaic panel is developed for excellent performance even in situations of extreme weather, ensuring high production at elevated external temperatures




The new production of innovative solar panels involves an investment of over 80 million euro for the Catania photovoltaic factory, partly financed by the European research and innovation programme Horizon 2020
