Green Jobs:
the great thing about working at 3SUN

2
00:00:03.520 --> 00:00:04.240 position:25% size:50%
Hi,

3
00:00:04.240 --> 00:00:08.080 position:25% size:50%
so tell me: what’s your name and what do you do at 3Sun?

4
00:00:08.080 --> 00:00:10.720 position:25% size:50%
Caterina La Porta, 44 years old.

5
00:00:10.720 --> 00:00:12.600 position:25% size:50%
I’ve been working at 3Sun for 11 years.

6
00:00:12.600 --> 00:00:14.400 position:25% size:50%
I’m involved in production,

7
00:00:14.400 --> 00:00:16.680 position:25% size:50%
I’m the area’s aesthete.

8
00:00:17.040 --> 00:00:19.280 position:25% size:50%
Ah! ‘Aesthete’ in what sense?

9
00:00:19.320 --> 00:00:21.640 position:25% size:50%
The work area needs to be looked after, too.

10
00:00:21.720 --> 00:00:23.760 position:25% size:50%
I take care of everything related

11
00:00:23.760 --> 00:00:26.400 position:25% size:50%
to keeping the area tidy and clean.

12
00:00:26.400 --> 00:00:28.960 position:25% size:50%
I liaise with two external companies

13
00:00:28.960 --> 00:00:30.360 position:25% size:50%
that carry out the work:

14
00:00:30.360 --> 00:00:31.600 position:25% size:50%
a cleaning company

15
00:00:31.600 --> 00:00:33.880 position:25% size:50%
and a waste disposal company.

16
00:00:34.040 --> 00:00:37.520 position:25% size:50%
Ok, but what exactly is this area?

17
00:00:38.680 --> 00:00:39.920 position:25% size:50%
The production area.

18
00:00:39.920 --> 00:00:43.560 position:25% size:50%
Ah, I see: and what's in this production area?

19
00:00:43.560 --> 00:00:44.680 position:25% size:50%
The production area

20
00:00:44.680 --> 00:00:47.600 position:25% size:50%
is where the solar panels are assembled.

21
00:00:48.720 --> 00:00:52.400 position:25% size:50%
Ah, so it’s quite a responsibility that you have.

22
00:00:52.480 --> 00:00:54.680 position:25% size:50%
Being an assembly line,

23
00:00:54.680 --> 00:00:57.840 position:25% size:50%
the production area has to be kept in perfect order,

24
00:00:57.840 --> 00:01:02.120 position:25% size:50%
because very few people work in there.

25
00:01:03.040 --> 00:01:04.880 position:25% size:50%
That's why it's critical

26
00:01:04.880 --> 00:01:07.280 position:25% size:50%
to have everything exactly where it should be.

27
00:01:07.600 --> 00:01:09.480 position:25% size:50%
Ok, that sounds fair enough.

28
00:01:09.480 --> 00:01:11.640 position:25% size:50%
Let me ask you a question:

29
00:01:11.680 --> 00:01:15.800 position:25% size:50%
If you had to describe a solar panel to a child,

30
00:01:15.800 --> 00:01:16.880 position:25% size:50%
what would you tell them?

31
00:01:16.880 --> 00:01:19.640 position:25% size:50%
Imagine a very large sheet of glass.

32
00:01:19.640 --> 00:01:22.280 position:25% size:50%
Inside it, there are these light blue cells

33
00:01:22.280 --> 00:01:27.280 position:25% size:50%
with tiny silver wires in them.

34
00:01:27.280 --> 00:01:29.520 position:25% size:50%
Sunlight hits them,

35
00:01:29.520 --> 00:01:32.960 position:25% size:50%
they reflect it, and energy is produced.

36
00:01:34.080 --> 00:01:35.920 position:25% size:50%
What is energy to you?

37
00:01:36.000 --> 00:01:39.880 position:25% size:50%
I always think of energy as movement.

38
00:01:40.080 --> 00:01:42.640 position:25% size:50%
To move, you need lots of energy.

39
00:01:42.680 --> 00:01:45.720 position:25% size:50%
And here at 3Sun, that’s how it works, right?

40
00:01:45.760 --> 00:01:50.320 position:25% size:50%
We’re a team here, everybody here is moving

41
00:01:50.320 --> 00:01:52.760 position:25% size:50%
and so we all need energy.

42
00:01:52.960 --> 00:01:57.720 position:25% size:50%
Would you recommend working here to your best friend?

43
00:01:57.800 --> 00:02:00.000 position:25% size:50%
Definitely – for many reasons.

44
00:02:00.000 --> 00:02:03.200 position:25% size:50%
It’s like I have my second family here;

45
00:02:03.200 --> 00:02:05.760 position:25% size:50%
every day I come to work happy,

46
00:02:05.760 --> 00:02:06.800 position:25% size:50%
with a smile on my face.

47
00:02:06.800 --> 00:02:09.120 position:25% size:50%
Every day, for eleven years.

48
00:02:09.120 --> 00:02:11.720 position:25% size:50%
It’s so important; coming to work with a smile on your face

49
00:02:11.720 --> 00:02:13.880 position:25% size:50%
is wonderful, for everyone.

50
00:02:14.880 --> 00:02:17.160 position:25% size:50%
It's also a job where you’re helping

51
00:02:17.160 --> 00:02:20.000 position:25% size:50%
and contributing to the future of the planet, right?

52
00:02:20.160 --> 00:02:24.720 position:25% size:50%
Exactly, here’s hoping for a green future.
