Enel Green Power North America Inc. acquired partial ownership of Sheldon Springs Hydroelectric Project in 1993 and full ownership in 2005. The project was originally created in the 1920’s as a paper mill generating facility. It was restored and expanded in the 1980’s.

In recent history, Enel Green Power North America Inc. implemented a $1.6 million capital expenditure program at Sheldon Springs Hydroelectric Project. The program successfully improved the output and efficiency of the site. Improvements included intake modifications, turbine and generator efficiency improvements, upgrading of controls, and adjustments to winter operations in connection with icing conditions.
