In conjunction with development partner Northern Alternative Energy of Minneapolis, Enel Green Power North America (EGP-NA) constructed and owns a majority interest in this windpower development located in three areas of the state. The bulk of the project is on the Buffalo Ridge in Lincoln County, southwestern Minnesota. Smaller wind turbine installations are in Elk River (Sherburne County) in central Minnesota, and in Clay County in northwestern Minnesota.The first units were commissioned in December 2000 and the entire project was completed in the spring of 2001.

In addition to providing equity capital, EGP-NA was instrumental in finalizing the financing arrangements and turnkey contract for the project.
