The Ware Shoals Hydroelectric Project is a 5.5 MW generating station located in Ware Shoals, South Carolina; a small town about 50 miles south of Greenville on the Saluda River. The dam and powerhouse construction was completed in 1906. During the early 20th century the powerhouse was operated by the adjacent Ware Shoals Manufacturing Co.

Two of the original four units were replaced in 1939 with a vertical Kaplan unit. The other two original units were replaced in 1984 with a single, horizontal tube turbine. Aquenergy Systems, Inc., a subsidiary of Enel Green Power North America, Inc., purchased the facility from Riegel Textile Mill in 1987 and after extensive renovations began selling power to Duke Power Company.
