Javier graduated in Industrial Engineering with a major degree in power systems from “Universidad Politecnica de Madrid” in 1999 and began his career working in roles of growing responsibility within engineering areas mainly devoted to renewable energies. He joined Enel Group at the end of 2004 through Enel Union Fenosa Renovables. At Enel Green Power he has been in charge of different roles mainly devoted to operation, control room and energy management activities for the Spanish and Portuguese EGP renewable portfolio.
In 2015 he moved to Head of Energy Management EGP Iberia to Brasil as Head of Latin America Commercial Office. In this role he focused on managing the commercial team and coordinating scouting and origination opportunities for PPA’s with traditional and non- traditional off takers, definition of pricing strategies for energy auctions, execution of energy sales/purchases, as well as ensuring risk management and hedging of the portfolio exposure on energy commodities.
In 2016, he moved to Rome as Head of Global Commercial Office. In this role, he is responsible for the scouting, origination, structuring and pricing of long term PPAs for new renewable capacity worldwide with industrial, commercial and non-traditional offtakers.
