The new module developed by 3SUN is bifacial and in the amorphous/crystalline silicon heterojunction category, a solution that ensures high performance, in terms of efficiency and producibility, and low degeneration of the module. Specifically, the main characteristics of the panel displayed in Berlin are a glass/glass structure with transparent encapsulant, 72 high efficiency cells, a bifacial structure optimised for capturing light from both sides, a robustness that can guarantee a lifespan of over 30 years, greater performance at high temperatures, an initial efficiency of 18% in 2018 that will increase to 20% in 2019 and a Pmax that will go from 365W in 2018 to 390W in 2019.
“The innovative HJT module is the result of a research and industrial expansion project called 3SUN 2.0, which is financed partly by a European programme for research and innovation, Horizon 2020 European Call LCE-09-2016-2017, through the Ampere project, and partly by the Ministry of Economic Development and the Region of Sicily.”
The aim of the project is the technological conversion of the industrial site for the construction of bifacial photovoltaic modules into heterojunction technology of amorphous/crystalline silicon.
