About the project

Dover Solar Project

Enel Green Power is developing the Dover Solar Project in Dover Township, York County, Pennsylvania. Featuring an estimated 75 MW of solar power capacity, commercial operations are expected to begin by the end of 2023. Based on its current design parameters, the Dover Solar Project will produce enough carbon-free electricity to power a projected 12,000 local Pennsylvania households and help avoid the emission of around 80,000 tons of CO2 each year.

Our company has a proven record of developing solar and wind projects nationwide, and collaborating closely with landowners and civic leaders to create projects that benefit the entire community. 

We strive not only to be a good neighbor, but also to become a strong community partner. Having an open dialogue with local residents is important to us, and we are dedicated to seeking community input and incorporating as much of that feedback as possible into our plans.

Community Impact

Economic Benefit

Dover Solar will generate real estate tax revenue over the life of the project, which will benefit the local school district and public services. The project is also estimated to create hundreds of jobs during construction, and generate predictable, long-term income for landowners.

Agricultural Presence

Enel Green Power is exploring the potential of maintaining agricultural presence throughout the life of the project through native vegetation and other dual-use practices such as livestock grazing and bee pollination. While quietly and passively harvesting sunlight, the land beneath the solar panels lies fallow, which allows the quality of the soil to improve.

Visual Impact

Compared to many other types of commercial development, low-profile solar panels present minimal visual impact. Vegetative screening will be added around nearby homes.
