Senior Development Director, Enel Green Power
Tom joined Enel Green Power in 2017 as a Development Director focused on wind development in Illinois. In 2019, Tom was promoted to Senior Development Director and given the role of managing wind, storage and solar projects and staff in the Eastern United States. His responsibilities include overseeing project development managers along with the efforts of various departments including land acquisition and real estate, design and engineering, permitting and environmental, energy assessment, interconnection, regulatory and legislative affairs and state and community outreach.
Tom began his renewable energy development career in 2006 at Midwest Wind Energy and moved on to Geronimo Energy in 2012. Along the way, he has successfully developed of over a dozen wind projects totaling almost 2000 MW throughout the Midwest in PJM, SPP and MISO. Prior to entering the renewable energy field, Tom was a City Planner and Zoning Administrator for the suburban Chicago communities of Geneva and Huntley. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Community and Regional Planning from Iowa State University and is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP).
Originally from Illinois, Tom now lives in Eastern Iowa with his wife and two children. In January, 2020, Tom was appointed to the Johnson County, Iowa Planning and Zoning Commission which is an advisory board tasked with reviewing development proposals on behalf of the Johnson County Board. In his spare time, Tom enjoys boating, reading, playing video games with his son and spending time with family and friends.
