The Enel space in Passo Martino hosted the eighteenth edition of the Youth of Confindustria Catania’s initiative dedicated to the spread of business culture in schools
Applications and “smart” solutions designed for alternative energy and mobility, education and healthcare, and even to food and tourism. These key issues were covered by the ten “digital” ideas presented at the Enel Innovation Lab in Catania during the closing ceremony of the "Your Dream Company", the educational initiative of the Youth of Confindustria Catania dedicated to the spread of business culture in schools. EGP colleagues Francesco Aleo (Solar Laboratory at Passo Martino) and Stefano Terrana (Representative for Institutional Affairs Sicily) were also present at the event.
Seven schools in Catania took part in this eighteenth edition of the initiative: Archimede, Cannizzaro, Cutelli, Fermi-Eredia, Ferraris di Acireale, Galilei and Vaccarini. The winner was the Cannizzaro Institute, 1st in the rankings, with “Health & Software”, a smart bracelet that measures skin temperature and gives a warning in case of excessive exposure to sunlight. In second place, there was the Ferraris di Acireale Institute with “Digiclass”, a web platform that allows for the integrated management of study materials and the organisation of the school day.
“It’s been 18 years that the Young Entrepreneurs Group of Confindustria Catania has been promoting the ‘Your Dream Company’ project, in collaboration with the main schools in the province”, said Salvo Messina, vice president of the Youth Group in Catania. “The goal is straightforward: to stimulate innovative ideas and to find real aspiring young entrepreneurs”. Also in the opinion of Gianluca Costanzo, representative for "Education" of the G.I. Group in Catania, the project to spread business culture “aims to gather the best start-up ideas and innovation coming from schools. It’s no coincidence that the final event took place in the spaces of the Enel Innovation Lab, a place recognised internationally as a great hub of innovation and research”.
