Open Plants made a stop at our hydroelectric plant in the province of Reggio Emilia. Following guided tours and educational workshops, the day came to an end with a concert by Fabio Concato.
A packed square, the unmistakable voice of Fabio Concato and a fireworks show lighting up the lake of Ligonchio. The most recent day of Open Plants could not have ended better. On Saturday 29 July, the initiative stopped through our hydroelectric plant in the city of Ventasso, in the province of Reggio Emilia, nestled between the valleys of the Ozola and the Secchia, not far from the Appennino Tosco-Emiliano National Park.
As part of the event “Ligonchio Energia 2017”, on until 5 August, more than 1500 people have visited the spaces of the plant near Monte Cusna, an eminent example of Liberty industrial architecture, which came into operation in 1921.
Educational workshops and guided tours allowed visitors yound and old to discover the world of renewable energy, all alongside music, entertainment and the many culinary delights of the local territory.
Inside the plant, people could also visit the educational studio “From Wave to Wave”, an itinerary showing where hydroelectric energy comes from, while at 9:30pm there was a free concert by Fabio Concato, in Ventasso as part of his Open Tour 2017, which will pass through several Italian cities throughout the month of August.
The singer from Milan shared his best pieces with the audience, filling out every corner of our plant’s square, singing old songs (from “Domenica bestiale” to “Ti ricordo ancora” and “Fiore di maggio”) and original pieces from his new album entitled “Tutto qua”. The evening concluded with a fireworks show over the lake, the ideal end to a perfect day.
Events at the plant will continue next weekend: on Friday, 4 August at 9:30pm, there will be a Rockabilly concert with the band Impossibilly and Saturday, 5 August at 5:30pm, in collaboration with the Appennino Tosco Emiliano National Park, there will be a conference: "Water, Energy, Climate" with LUCA LOMBROSO.
