“Today, 40% of our projects are in line with the model of Creating Shared Value, bringing social benefits to the communities where we work, alongside benefits for the business.”

– Márcia Massoti, Head of Sustainability for Enel in Brazil

For example, in the State of Bahia, near the Delfina wind farm, Enel Green Power Brazil and Uruguay’s Environment division is carrying out a project to safeguard Lear's macaw, an endangered species.

In the State of Piauí, where we built the Nova Olinda solar plant, Enel launched CineSolar, a travelling cinema project that uses solar energy and later made a stop in Morro do Chapéu, in the State of Bahia.

Sustainability gets rewarded!

2017 was a memorable year for Enel in Brazil: the multinational company doubled its number of projects to support the socio-economic development of the country. Roughly 6.8 million people benefited from the positive impacts of the initiatives carried out in this year.

Enel being featured in the Exame Sustainability Guide is a recognition of our work as well as an incentive to keep improving.

“This award comes thanks to the energy of all the people that work to create truly sustainable development with a real impact on the areas where we work. Our sustainable development comes from the way we relate to our colleagues, our suppliers, our customers and, above all, society.”

– Nicola Cotugno, Country Manager for Enel in Brazil

The development and spread of renewable technologies are the guiding spirit of our Group. The award from Exame Magazine, together with this year’s achievements, demonstrates once again how sustainability is one of Enel’s distinctive features.
