“Enel’s pursuit of a zero-carbon future shares a common path with the protection of the environment and endangered species. Through our sponsorship of the Renewable Energy Cup, EGP is further underscoring its commitment to sustainability in Australia.”

– Javier Blanco, Country Manager Enel Green Power Australia

The funds raised during the event will be donated to the Australian NGO “For the Love of Wildlife” (FLOW), which works to raise awareness and funds for animal protection programs and promotes projects in Australia, New Zealand and Africa.

Currently, FLOW is involved in requesting a redrafting of the “Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Flora and Fauna” in order to strengthen its stance on sustainability.

A day of sailing and support

The Renewable Energy Cup is open to everyone. Each team will have an expert skipper who will helm the boat in the striking bay of Sydney.

In the past, EGP has shown its strong ties to the sea by supporting the efforts of Italian skipper Andrea Fantini and his Class 40 Enel Green Power. Thanks to this floating energy laboratory, it has been possible to experiment and test new marine generation technologies and gain insights to fine-tune existing technologies.

Participation in the Renewable Energy Cup attests to Enel Green Power’s determination to protect biodiversity, a commitment that has already been put into action via specific projects around the world, from Chile to Brazil to South Africa.

Enel Green Power names the support of biodiversity as one of its business pillars in line with n. 15 of the United Nations’ Agenda 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

We can’t wait to prove it when navigating the waves at Sydney’s Renewable Energy Cup
