The Augusta solar plant

The Augusta solar plant is located within the perimeter of Enel’s Tifeo power plant in the coastal town of Augusta in the province of Syracuse in Sicily.

The plant marks another step in our ongoing commitment to fighting the effects of climate change and supporting the transition to a clean energy world.

In order to build it, we used a genuine example of Italian excellence: the 3Sun photovoltaic solar modules, which were produced at our factory in Catania’s “Etna Valley.” The panels are mounted on tracker structures. The term ”tracker” refers to the fact that they follow the movement of the Sun across the sky in order to maximize the production of renewable energy over the course of the day.
