Enel Green Power is developing various renewables projects and is evaluating new opportunities in this country rich in geothermal, wind, solar and hydroelectric resources.
Renewable energy for Kenya
Kenya has great prospects for the future of renewable energy. Enel Green Power is developing wind, solar and hydroelectric projects, and is considering the opportunity to develop geothermal technology.
At the same time, Enel Green Power - as a founding member of RES4Africa - is funding the Micro-Grid Academy of Nairobi, an initiative aimed at training young Kenyans to plan, manage and maintain mini-electric grids powered by renewable resources to guarantee local rural communities stable access to renewable energy.
With a high birthrate, increasing life expectancy and booming urbanization, broad, balanced renewable solutions are required to meet the needs of the country’s highly variegated geography and population. Enel Green Power is ready to do its part in Kenya’s energy transition process.
