Sustainability Farm: The First School to Learn about Sustainability

Published on Monday, 14 October 2019

“How can we use innovation to solve big global challenges? We have to start thinking and acting differently in order to have a real impact and restore the balance of our planet. We need big projects and innovation to face these large global challenges. We have to stop reasoning by compartmentalizing.”

– Marc Buckley, Sustainability Expert

The event was focused on the evolution of the concept of sustainability. Until ten years ago, the term sustainability was little more than a decorative element. The commitment of institutions and companies in the front lines, together with an increase in awareness, has led to a proactive approach and has started to put sustainable development at the center of the global debate.

Sustainability Farm was a chance to show the audience numbers and projects from EGP’s pursuit of the path to sustainability. Since 2015, the company has been committed to integrating the Sustainable Development Goals set out in the UN’s 2030 Agenda into its business.

“Enel has publicly adhered to the commitments and objectives of the SDGs since 2015. We are the only Italian company to have announced carbon neutrality by 2050 and were the first in the world to launch a General-purpose, SDG-Linked bond on the capital market, a bond instrument linked to achieving sustainable goals.”

– Giovanni Tula, Head of Sustainability – Enel Green Power

From the creation of shared value to the pillars of our value chain: the sustainable construction site, sustainable plant and sustainable buildings. Sustainability is at the heart of every step in Enel Green Power’s journey. Because green energy can and must be sustainable energy, too.
