Malvezzi Solar Project, Italy

Plant under construction

About the project

The Malvezzi solar project

Enel Green Power is building the Malvezzi solar farm in the Municipality of Poggio Renatico (Ferrara), Emilia Romagna.

The large-scale ground-mounted solar PV farm will be built on a production site of around 22 hectares, and will use the best technology currently available on the market. This includes bifacial modules  which can absorb energy on both sides. They will be mounted on mono-axial trackers that follow the movement of the sun during the day, thereby maximizing the amount of renewable energy produced.

The first project in an initiative that allows citizens to make an active contribution to the development of renewables

The project also offers the local community an opportunity. The Malvezzi solar farm will in fact be the first in Italy to be part of the Renewable Choice project. This encourages communities to play an active and practical role in the development of clean energy, which in turn drives the process of decarbonization in the country. In this particular case, citizens will be able to invest in the project through an online crowdfunding campaign. This enables them to obtain an economic return linked to a fixed annual interest rate, in addition to recovering the initial capital paid.
