He subsequently served first as Head of HSEQ for Thermal Generation Italy and then as Head of HSEQ for Power Generation Italy, leading the implementation of health, safety, environmental, and quality policies across Enel’s entire generation portfolio in Italy.

In 2021, he was appointed Head of Health & Safety for the Enel Group, with the task of defining the Group’s health and safety guidelines and harmonizing their application across the various business lines and geographies.

From 2023 to 2026, he served as Head of Health, Safety, and Environment at Enel Grids, leading the division’s HSE strategies and contributing to the evolution of models for prevention, sustainability, and the protection of people.

Marcello graduated with honors in Chemical Engineering from the University of Palermo in 2005 and participated in the Leadership for Energy Management Program at SDA Bocconi and IESE Business School in Barcelona.
