Scheduled on September 27 to 29 the main international summit to explore the prospects of the wind energy markets in 2020 and beyond. The summit will be chaired by Francesco Venturini, CEO and president of EGP WindEurope.
Everything's ready for WindEurope Summit 2016, the annual event for which there is great expectancy, scheduled in Hamburg from September 27 to 29, with the aim of exploring the technological and wind energy market prospects until 2020 and beyond.
The busy conference programme will offer players the opportunity to meet leading experts from the industry and finance sectors, as well as academic and institutional fields.
The three-day summit will address various topics - about 50 – and will gather over 100 speakers: from the impact of digitisation on wind energy to the developments of technology on storage and changes in the financial and business models.
It has become increasingly clear that onshore and offshore are the new renewable frontiers that will reduce energy production costs, save CO2 emissions and make progress towards meeting the objectives set by the Paris Agreement on climate. Therefore, at a historic time of great changes, the Hamburg event aims to define and discuss the opportunities and obstacles that the wind energy industry will face in the coming years.
Enel Green Power CEO Francesco Venturini will chair the Summit 2016, acting as president of the European Association that represents the wind industry. Participants in this edition will be welcomed by Commission Vice-President and European Commissioner for Energy Union Maroš Šefčovič. Germany's Vice-Chancellor and Economy and Energy Minister Sigmar Gabriel will also be present, as well as a large delegation of CEOs of leading European wind energy companies.
