“This year's awards show how alive the industrial and cultural exchange between Italy and Germany actually is, and represent an important signal at a crucial moment in the relationship between European countries.”
In February this year Enel Green Power Germany, a subsidiary of Enel Green Power, signed an agreement with the German wind farm operator ENERTRAG AG and the Swiss energy storage solutions company Leclanché SA for the construction and operation of a 22 MW lithium ion battery plant in Cremzow, Brandenburg. This is the first Enel Group storage facility in Germany, whose construction will require an investment of approximately 17 million euros. The plant will offer frequency regulation services on the German Primary Control Reserve (PCR) market, to also support network stability, and will later be integrated with ENERTRAG wind farms.
The Italian-German Mercurio Economic Prize has been awarded since 1999 for initiatives of particular importance in the field of economic and cultural exchanges between Italy and Germany. There are seven criteria that guide the jury in awarding the same, including: job creation/retention, growth, sustainability and know-how transfer.
The awards ceremony is held in the presence of representatives of German and Italian entrepreneurship, prominent figures in the public life of both countries and representatives of the press.
