About the project

Ables Springs Solar + Storage Project

Ables Springs is a 150 MW solar + 100 MW battery storage project that will provide sustainable, affordable energy, create jobs and benefit the local economy in Kaufman County, Texas.

There are a few key ways the Ables Springs Solar Project will generate benefits for Kaufman County:

  • The Ables Springs Solar Project is estimated to provide millions in local tax revenue
  • The project will create jobs in Kaufman County during and after construction through facility maintenance
  • The project will generate zero polluting emissions, protect local habitats and promote clean air and water
  • Solar is considered low-impact land use and will not harm surrounding farmland

    Clark Bixler

    Project Developer

    Clark Bixler is currently responsible for the development of wind, solar, and battery storage in Oklahoma & Texas. He manages a team performing key development tasks including land acquisition, contract negotiation, title curative, permitting, environmental surveying, design and engineering and community outreach programs. Clark has led and managed numerous wind and solar projects that total over 3,000 MW.

    Clark grew up and currently resides in a small town in northwest Oklahoma where he is actively involved with his family as the 4th generation in their cattle and farming operation. Clark obtained a B.S. in Agriculture Economics from Oklahoma State University. He enjoys St. Louis Cardinals baseball, Oklahoma State University athletics, quail hunting, working with cattle and traveling with his wife, Bethany.
