José Navarro

Director for Mexico

José Navarro is the Director for Mexico at Enel Green Power and Thermal Generation, the Enel business line which generates energy from renewable and conventional sources.

Navarro joined the Enel Group in late 2018, through Enel Green Power Spain, and worked on the development of photovoltaic and wind farms. During this period, he contributed to achieving a portfolio of more than 6,000 MW, securing construction permits that were implemented over the following five years. In 2020, he moved to Rome after being appointed Executive Assistant to the Enel Group´s CEO, Francesco Starace, and carried out the duties of the CEO's office.

Navarro’s professional career began in 2012, and it has almost entirely been linked to the energy sector. He started at the Spanish company Abengoa Solar, managing Research and Development projects in solar technology. He then worked at the Trillo Nuclear Power Plant (Spain), supporting the Instrumentation and Control Maintenance Department. Before joining Enel, he co-founded and managed his own company.

Navarro, who was born in Badajoz, Spain, holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Extremadura and in Mechanical Engineering from VIA University in Denmark. Furthermore, he has a Master's in Electronics from the University of Seville, where he also obtained his Ph.D. in Industrial Electronic Engineering and in Telecommunications, focusing on the characterization of solar farm components.
