Accelerating a Cleaner Future with Clorox and Enel Green Power

Accelerating a Cleaner Future with Clorox and Enel Green Power

The Clorox Company is a leading multinational manufacturer of consumer and professional products, based in Oakland, California, with about 9,000 employees worldwide. Its partnership with Enel Green Power at the Roadrunner solar  plant  in Texas is helping the company achieve and maintain its renewable electricity goals that are part of its commitment to action on climate.

Partnership

A commitment to climate stewardship

In 2019, The Clorox Company entered a 10 year virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA) to procure a 70 MW portion of Enel Green Power’s Roadrunner solar project. The plant’s 1.2 million bifacial photovoltaic (PV) panels can generate approximately 1.2 TWh annually, avoiding over 800,000 tons of C02 emissions per year. This agreement helped to accelerate The Clorox Company in achieving its goal of 100% renewable electricity for its U.S. and Canada operations in 2021, four years earlier than originally planned. The Clorox Company is committed to setting and achieving emissions reduction targets in line with the Science Based Targets Initiative. It is a signatory of the United Nations Global Compact, a community of global leaders committed to sustainability, and the Ellen MacArthur Foundation's New Plastics Economy Global Commitment.
