lululemon athletica inc. and Enel Green Power: Sustainable and Equitable Athletic Apparel

lululemon athletica inc. and Enel Green Power: Sustainable and Equitable Athletic Apparel

lululemon athletica inc. is a healthy lifestyle-inspired athletic apparel company for yoga, running or training, and most other sweaty pursuits. The partnership with Enel Green Power is helping it to achieve its climate change goals around carbon reduction.

Partnership

Progressing towards circularity and sustainability

In August 2021, lululemon athletica inc. signed its first virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA) for a 15 MW portion of Enel Green Power’s Azure Sky Wind and Storage project. Through this VPPA, the athletic apparel company is set to achieve its 100% renewable electricity goal across its direct operations in North America by 2021. The energy purchased is equivalent to the electricity needs of lululemon’s direct operations in North America, including 380 stores, 6 offices and 5 distribution centers, and helps lululemon achieve its climate change goals around carbon reduction. This agreement will enable the company to achieve its RE100 Commitment by 2021 and make progress towards its Impact Agenda which includes Science-based Targets by 2030.
