Paolo Dario

Paolo Dario is a historical figure in robotics worldwide. He is a professor emeritus of biomedical robotics at the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa, where he created and directed the Biorobotics Institute  for years. He is a permanent member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and has an incredibly vast scientific production with several patents. He received many awards and recognitions, both nationally and internationally, including the prestigious Joseph Engelberger Award and the IEEE Ras Pioneer Award.
